This catlogue is produced by the Syrian European Business Centre (SEBC).
The Syrian European Business Centre (SEBC) is a project funded by the European Commission, with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of the business sector and its support institutions, in Syria. Having concluded its first phase in October 2000, the Syrian European Business Centre entered its second phase, which will last until September 2004.

The programme's overall objective is to increase the competitiveness of the business sector and its support institutions in view of the progressive transition towards a market economy and to facilitate the successful entry of Syria into the Euro-Mediterranean Free Trade Area (FTA) by the year 2010.

The specific objectives of SEBC are:

  • To improve and develop the performance of Syrian business in target sectors of local, regional and international markets while increasing output, quality, exports and employment.
  • To develop EU-Syrian co-operation and information.
  • To develop Syrian capacities in consulting and advisory services.
  • To improve and develop the business environment and sector policy, and make them conducive to the development of local businesses

The Syrian-European Business Centre will provide services and implement activities in the following areas of activity:

  • Information and Business Co-operation
  • Export Promotion
  • Institutional Development and Policy formulation
