Essential Oils are highly concentrated essences extracted from plants, flowers, trees, grasses and seeds. For many oils it takes a great deal of raw plant material to produce a small amount of essential oil. They are used for different purposes such as:

Essential oils in Syria:

The existence of raw materials, cultivated and wild, in large quantities, the Syrian environmental and climate conditions, together with the scientific progress has led to adaptation and development of essential oils extraction methods in particular ,distillation and enfleurage. Consequently Syrian producers have developed significant expertise and profession traditions in this field.

Essential oils were, and still are, widely used in every facet of life in Syria. As essence for perfume purposes, as therapeutic remedies and as an aid to emotional well being.
